The Assistant Vice President of Human Resources Information Systems (AVP HRIS) is a key leadership role in Human Resources. You will build strategic partnerships and shape the HR technology roadmap to meet the needs of the CMU community. You will also spearhead the stabilization, enhancements, updates and extensions of HR systems.

As AVP HRIS, you will report to the Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer and will work very closely with leaders in HR, Finance, Computing Services (IT) and other academic and administrative units. You will lead a team of highly skilled specialists in HRIS and serve in a key role to ensuring the success of the university's HR service delivery model.
You will drive industry-tested practices in a decentralized higher education environment, collaborating effectively with a broad array of partners, and delivering timely solutions of varied complexity and scope. You will be consistently faced with the need to solve problems, be adaptable, and willing to learn. We will look to you to support the mission of HR and the university through your work.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Manage and own the HR information system function
Provide strategic direction, leadership, and supervision of all operations of the HRIS function
Ensure HR information systems roadmap and strategy is aligned with the overall HR strategy and CMU wide strategic plan
Collaborate, consult, coordinate and plan HRIS roadmap and initiatives with campus partners.
Work closely with campus partners and leadership to develop and execute stabilization, improvement and update plan
Serve as the main point of contact and provide counsel, guidance, and support to all HR information systems external vendors and consultants
Collaborate with HR partners and domain experts regarding specific functional areas within all HR systems
Critically assess current programs and policies in order to ensure programs are meeting HR and CMU community needs
Assemble information, identify key partners within the university, design strategic models, assemble and implement solution teams, develop/present proposals and projects to relevant audiences
