The Director of Biomedical Development is responsible for a portfolio of major gifts prospects and strategic management of the Brown Medical Annual Fund, including growing the Annual Fund leadership giving and medical parents fundraising programs.He/she will also support efforts to develop and manage grateful patient/community engagement and fundraising.
Bachelorâ™s degree and 5-7 yearsâ™ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Development / fundraising experience preferred; if no direct fundraising experience, the incumbent must demonstrate transferable experience from another field such as sales/relationship managements.
S/he must also have staff management experience to lead a team.
Familiarity with Brown University and the Division of Biology and Medicine is highly desirable. Direct experience in healthcare is also desirable.
Must have excellent communication skills, written and oral.
Proven ability to solicit and close gifts on the six-figure+ level or equivalent experience in related field (such as sales).
Should have a high degree of computer literacy and management information skills.
