The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in the Fall of 2018.
The Department offers BS, MS and PhD degrees in applied mathematics and in statistics. For more information, visit our web site <https://mathstat.umbc.edu>. The departmental culture encourages research collaboration, with a strong emphasis to involve undergraduate, as well as graduate students, in the research activities. The department's PhD program also has a biostatistics track, in partnership with University of Maryland's School of Medicine and Greenbaum Cancer Center. UMBC is a public research university which integrates teaching and research, and has a strong emphasis on science and engineering at the graduate level. The campus is located between Baltimore and Washington, and is in close proximity to several federal agencies. The statistics faculty at UMBC actively interacts with some of the federal agencies.
