Simpson College is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Multicultural Recruitment. This position participates in all aspects of recruitment and is responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of students from multicultural and international backgrounds. In this role, emphasis will be placed on Latino recruitment and the assistant director will provide leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive recruitment plan for Latino students. Additional responsibilities will include fostering community relations to further enhance the development of programs and partnerships, both on and off-campus, designed to assist the college in achieving a diverse student body.
Duties and Responsibilities
Actively recruit prospective students in assigned areas
Assist prospective students through financial assistance and admission process.
Manage communication with prospective students from assigned areas (social media, telephone calls, emails, personal notes).
Seasonally travel to high schools and college fair programs. This position requires domestic travel (8-10 weeks per year).
Represent Simpson College at various activities both on and off campus.
Establish and implement a comprehensive recruitment and outreach plan for Hispanic and Latino students.
Lead the college’s Latino outreach efforts in establishing partnerships and relationships with community groups, high schools and community colleges.
Collaborate with Simpson clubs and organizations to celebrate multicultural events and host campus visit opportunities for prospective students.
Serve as a member of campus diversity and inclusion committees.

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably from a private liberal arts college. Work experience in a related field is preferred but not required. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal are required. An understanding of current issues and challenges facing students representing diverse backgrounds is preferred. Because of the specific responsibilities of this position, fluency in Spanish and English is required. Additional responsibilities include strong analytical abilities and demonstrated experience working in a team environment to manage projects from inception to implementation.
