Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Health Records Clerk within Rutgers University Correctional Health Care at South Woods State Prison located in Bridgeton, New Jersey
The Health Records Clerk is responsible and accountable for the maintenance of health records.
Organizes and maintains a system of files and records concerning diagnosis, treatments, admissions, and discharges.
Compiles, verifies, types, and files medical records of inmates within New Jersey Department of Corrections.
Performs all clerical duties related to the assembling and maintaining of medical records, including initiating records for new inmates.
Ensures the confidentiality of all medical records information.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in medical records.
Familiarity with the Problem Oriented Medical Record (SOAP) or similar system.
Clerical experience in relational database processes, and computer literacy, such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.
Must be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements. Employees will be subject to and must comply with all security regulations and procedures of NJ Department of Corrections and the assigned facility(ies) including, but not limited to sign in logs or electronic time clocks, searches of person and property, etc. Violations of NJ Department of Corrections and/or being banned by the Department of Corrections to work at a NJ Department of Corrections' facility are grounds for a disciplinary action and potential termination.
