Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry is accepting applications for the Mental Health Clinician II,Green Hills, TN. In this role, you will perform diagnostic assessment and therapeutic treatments under occasional guidance. You will also maintain contact with family and community agencies and makes referrals. Additionally, perform supervisory functions for staff/students and routinely offers support/coverage for departmental needs. This position will be employed by Vanderbilt University Medical Center and will provide therapeutic counseling services in a community reentry program for male residents who have been recently incarcerated.
In this unique role, you will provide direct therapeutic services including psychosocial assessments, treatment planning and both individual and group therapy.
Evidence-based approaches will be implemented to promote optimal outcomes for residents and support the goal of successful independent living.
Clinical supervision and oversight will be provided by a licensed professional (Ph.D or LCSW)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Conduct psychosocial assessments and other relevant assessments as indicated to determine mental health and substance abuse issues/needs.
2.Develop treatment plans based on individual needs.
3. Complete documentation as indicated by standards.
4.Conduct direct therapeutic services for residents which may include individual and group therapy as well as psychoeducation.
5.Make referrals for additional community services as needed. This may include consultation with primary care, community psychiatry and community recovery support groups.
6.Establish a team-focused and collaborative working relationship with program staff in a community faith-based program.
