Macalester College seeks to hire a full-time Coordinator of Campus Card Services to work in Business Services. The work of the incumbent will support Macalester ID card production and use for the campus community, contractors, alumni, Leonard Center users, volunteers, and conference attendees. This position will also manage several Business Services websites.
• Administers and manages the software to support Macalester’s card system, card production, and POS system, including, but not limited to Odyssey PCS, ID Works, Micros, and GET • Performs hardware maintenance to support card system, card production, and POS system, including, but not limited to SP75 ID card printer, ValuePort, Epics, contact-less readers, vending readers, laundry readers, Troubadors, dining cash register printers, and dining and information desk cash registers • Provides excellent front-line customer service to members of the Macalester community and guests in working to resolve issues with ID cards and meal plans • Trains student employees and contractor staff in new and replacement card production • Provides on-site event support for taking student ID pictures and printing ID cards; and coordinates new student photos, working with Residential Life to distribute first year student IDs • Manages card device requests for student attendance tracking • Activates and manages student meal plans in card system • Provides daily, weekly, monthly or ad-hoc reports to various departments around campus for purposes of billing, reconciliation, usage pattern analysis, or any other need • Creates, maintains, and documents policies and processes related to card system use, access and availability to users. Researches and implements system improvement and development through contact with Macalester community members, vendors, and outside services. • Serves as primary contact for Business Services websites, maintaining and improving the websites on a regular, ongoing basis to ensure up to date and accurate information • Collaborates with Information Technology Services (ITS), Safety and Security, Bon Appetit, Information Desk, and other campus partners
• A minimum of two years of experience working with ID card systems • An Associate’s Degree, vocational or technical school degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field. 3 years of direct experience managing card service databases, equipment, and report tools may be substituted for a degree • Experience working in higher education is preferred • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software • Familiarity with copiers, printers, card service equipment (valueport machine), epic readers, vending readers, receipt printers, and POS registers preferred • Experience working within Windows desktop and server environment; databases and spreadsheets;; and POS systems preferred • Experience working with Odyssey, Micros, ID Works, HTML, and web accessibility preferred • Experience with databases and SQL preferred• Ability to assess a situation and apply general policy and procedures as needed • Demonstrated analytical and attention-to-detail skills to track and find errors in daily reports • Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and stay organized • Demonstrated proficiency with G-Suite Applications • Demonstrated ability to communicate, work effectively, and build relationships with faculty, staff, students, and other partners, from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds • Expert ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal • Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with sensitive and confidential information • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours
