The successful candidate will teach courses in undergraduate programs in nutrition and related disciplines as well as graduate courses in their areas of expertise. Teaching typically accounts for 80% of the faculty workload. The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in departmental and campus activities, to mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and other scholarly activities, and to seek extramural funding for research programs.
About the Department
The Department of Health Sciences offers an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics and an ACEND-accredited Dietetic Internship. These programs have approximately 150 undergraduate majors, 9 dietetic interns, and 10 graduate students. The Department of Health Sciences also includes programs in public health, exercise science, clinical physiology, and paramedicine and provides excellent opportunities for collaboration within these programmatic areas. Faculty in the department work in a positive, dynamic, and collaborative environment .Â
PhD in a relevant discipline (ABDs will be considered)
Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in nutrition or related fields
Evidence or potential of the ability to be an excellent teacher at the undergraduate level
Experience and/or evidence of the ability to conduct independent research
Commitment to diversity and inclusivity through demonstrated experience working with diverse populations (based on response in cover letter)
Qualifications to teach in the areas dietetics, nutrition, food service management, OR food science
Experience as a research mentor of undergraduate and MS graduate students
