The Communications/Design Coordinator is responsible for providing general administrative, reception, and event support for the Office of Communications. In addition this position is responsible for assisting with graphic design projects related to the design and production of marketing materials, including design, layout and production of print collateral materials for Midwestern University and assisting with marketing’s social media efforts. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide general administrative support
Provide receptionist support to include greeting visitors and answering/routing phone calls
Process all check and PO requests and track all department budget items
Assist with special events, including Graduations, White Coat Ceremony, Chippin’ in for Students golf outing, University holiday events, and others
Other duties as assigned
Assist with graphic design which includes, design invitations, event programs, brochures, signage, giveaways, exhibits, and other materials; updating information and adding content
Produce marketing materials for the campus working within the University’s new branding standards
Coordinate all print production services, including working with print vendors, preparing print specifications, obtaining price estimates and preparing disks for final production
Review all proofs and assist with the distribution of printed materials
Assist Marketing Coordinator with social media projects
Organize and manage the Office’s photo files and archives
Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s Degree or higher education level in Graphic Design, Communications or related field required. 3-5 years of overall work experience required with previous related graphic arts or communication experience preferred. Able to develop maintain positive relationships with a variety of constituents. Proven ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities and successfully meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be highly organized.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook), Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, and Adobe Illustrator preferred. Must have experience with Macintosh software programs.
