Full Time; Career Starting Salary Range: $4,167.00-$4,750.00/monthly. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Using skills as a seasoned, experienced Student Services professional, provides a wide range of student services within the Division of Undergraduate Education's Office of Campus Advising Coordination. Independently advises students and resolves student services-related issues on the full range of honors and research opportunities. Advises faculty and management on a variety of student issues related to honors and research opportunities. Works with management to recommend changes to policies, practices, and procedures. Administers funds for undergraduate research through the Koret grant program.
The Coordinator of Undergraduate Honors and Research Opportunities supports the engagement of undergraduates in honors and research opportunities. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Advising, and in collaboration with the faculty director of honors, assists undergraduates in connecting with high-impact activities related to student success and retention by providing centralized information about opportunities, by increasing awareness of undergraduate achievement, and by coordinating, publicizing, and supporting programs such as the College Scholars and Koret Scholars Grant Program.
The Division of Undergraduate Education's Office of Campus Advising Coordination works to support undergraduate success, retention and graduation, and to create an environment in which academic advising can take place effectively across the UC Santa Cruz campus. The office collaborates with advisers in colleges, departments, divisions, and student service units, and with campus infrastructure, to improve policies, procedures, and tools; to support programs and innovations aimed at student success; and to provide training and development opportunities for undergraduate advisers.

Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience/training.
Working knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Demonstrated experience advising and/or mentoring students in an institution of higher education.
Knowledge of university-specific computer application programs.
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
