Under supervision, the Office Assistant provides primary reception and general clerical/administrative support in the front office of the Division of Global Engagement. The incumbent will provide a wide variety of customer service, general advising, problem solving and information research and office management. The primary customers of this position are students, although there is some contact with faculty and staff from across campus, as well as parents and other members of the public.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
Per the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA), this position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter. The selected candidate will be required to report known or suspected child abuse or neglect as defined by CANRA and will be required to sign a Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse prior to commencing employment.
Excellent related administrative/clerical experience with knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment.
Excellent typing, record keeping and organizational skills with ability to pay strict attention to detail, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Excellent interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy and good judgment in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and parents from diverse social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
Prior administrative experience with demonstrated abilities to prioritize assignments, organize and coordinate office operations, anticipate needs, and work effectively under pressure of deadlines.
Excellent customer service attitude and standards.
