The Innovation Associate will work with the IIP team to identify, evaluate, and license inventions made by researchers at PSU. This work will involve promoting the innovations of PSU faculty, staff, and students; managing intellectual property created by PSU faculty, staff, and students; and navigating complex agreements and relationships with external innovation development partners. The Innovation Associate will work internally to help interpret and explain the university's IP policy to faculty and students, and externally to draft and negotiate intellectual property agreements and related documents to enable access by external parties to PSU-created work.
The position will also assist with intellectual property terms in industry sponsored research agreements to allow external funding of PSU research. The position will monitor financial terms and compliance in existing agreements with companies, and help to maintain complete and accurate records of patent prosecution, market and commercial viability analysis, and intellectual property transactions.
