The Space@VT Research Groups seeks applicants to aid in operations, maintenance, and data analysis of the Autonomous Adaptive Low-Power Instrument Platform stations in Antarctica. This position requires working knowledge of remote system operation, hardware data analysis, and an ability to diagnose and correct unforeseen issues. The tasks assigned to this position involves working with system housekeeping and science data to maintain currently deployed systems, developing custom software for operation, analysis of those systems, and provide insight useful to future missions.
This is a part-time position of 15-20 hours per week ideally suited to one pursuing an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering or related field, with experience with hardware data analysis.
- A working portfolio demonstrating proficiency in data analysis, with focus on optimizing remote systems for long term health and operation - Experience such as processing system housekeeping data, operating, maintaining, and diagnosing remote systems - Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain custom software tools that can aid in the operation of the program - Demonstrated responsibility in handling sensitive projects with an attention to detail - Ability to work with and lead small teams on specific, mission-based goals
- A familiarity with instrument platforms is highly preferred
