The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager, for their full service dining establishment, Preston’s. The successful candidate will assist with managing, supervising, training, and supporting all restaurant operations to include the dining room, lounge and private dining. The assistant manager maintains a strong front of the house presence in order to provide leadership to contribute to 100% guest satisfaction. This position primarily focuses on the dinner and lounge operations.
Experience in restaurant & bar supervision. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements, beverage and food cost control procedures, and appropriate cash and credit card handling practices. Supervisory experience including performance management, and must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, guests and business executives from private industry and the university.
Previous supervisory experience in a hotel/restaurant environment and /or banquet/conference center experience. ServSafe certification. Knowledge of Delphi or similar event system and a point of sale system, preferably Micros.
