Reporting to the Associate Dean of Students, the Assistant Dean of Students for the Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies supports the efforts of the Office of the Dean of Students by providing services that advise, educate and advocate for students. As the Assistant Dean of Students, this individual will help enforce the student code, act in support of students, aid with dispute resolution, and represent the Graham School across the University of Chicago campus. Additionally, this individual will work closely with students and alumni of the Graham School to build their engagement through outreach programs and co-curricular opportunities, networking events, career support, and other initiatives identified by the Dean of Students Office and Graham School leadership.Position Responsibilities-Act as key liaison with students to learn and understand student perspectives and to serve as a voice of the School in the support of hearing and meeting student needs-Partner and collaborate with Campus and Student Life (CSL) and Alumni Relations and Development (ARD) to ensure Graham students are aware of and have access to University resources, groups, and events-Leverage the efforts of campus resources to build student and alumni engagement-Plan and manage quarterly convocations and activities/events designed to build community and enhance student involvement-Create and execute strategies to build visibility for key Graham School programs and initiatives to key audiences (UChicago faculty and leadership, alumni, and priority external audiences)-Determine ways to regularly measure student satisfaction and track program progress and outcomes-Assist non-degree programs with maintaining an alumni database, developing and executing plans for regular communications and opportunities for alumni engagement-Track academic progress and dissemination of diplomas and certificates -Manage communication regarding students' academic progress and credentials, as needed (consular correspondence, academic letters of explanation for degree/non-degree progress, etc.)-In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Students, serve as a conduit for academic policy advisement to students seeking academic support -Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Students, implement student policies and act as intermediary between students and academic areas should grievances arise-Compile and send non-degree student archival data to the alumni database, Griffin, on a quarterly basis-Manage disability requests from students in consultation with the Office of Student Disability Services and facilitate accommodations implementation (i.e. test proctoring, in-class extended testing, facility access, etc.)-Under guidance of the Associate Dean of Students, respond to emergency/crisis situations as requested, including coordination of communication with university officials and familiesThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this job.
