Research Interviewer for the PREPARE NOW study, a new program to help prepare patients with chronic kidney disease for decisions about treatment for kidney failure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with mailings to patients.
Obtain informed consent.
Administer baseline and follow-up questionnaire using standardized structured interview by telephone.
Enter data into an on-line REDCap database.
Keep accurate records of all contact made with study participants.
Perform other research/evaluation tasks as needed.
The successful candidate will be required to pass Protection of Human Research Subjects and HIPAA certification classes, if not already done. Other duties as assigned.
Other Job Functions:
Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, word processing and relational databases to track enrollment. Operate personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars and other basic office support software. Provide clerical support as needed. Maintain current certification in all applicable JHU required training classes.

Education: High School Diploma/GED required. Some college courses preferred.
Experience: Some related experience required. Additional education may substitute for experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Must have the ability to accurately obtain and record detailed information and assist participants in remembering past events. Knowledge of survey and scientific methods highly desirable.
Must be sensitive to the nature of the work and confidentiality of the study participants.
Prior work experience administering research interviews desired. Previous study recruitment experience preferred. Familiarity with chronic kidney disease.
Position requires flexibility, strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and the ability to use personal computer.
***Working schedule includes two or more evening shifts and at least one Saturday a month.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
