The Statler Hotel is the showcase for Cornell University's world-renowned School of Hotel Administration, and, for many visitors, the gateway to the university. Located at the center of Cornell's beautiful campus—in the heart of the scenic Finger Lakes region of New York State—it has earned the dual distinction as the Ithaca area's only AAA Four Diamond Award-winning property and the Ivy League's only ‘teaching hotel.’
Under the direct supervision of the Front Office Manager must be able to provide a welcoming and high service attitude to a very discerning clientele, is responsible for registering guests, assisting with the guests' requests, distributing mail and messages, and checking guests out of the hotel with a level of service that meets or exceeds guest expectations. Working with the Sales Department, configures all group bookings to insure proper service is provided to the meeting planners and conference participants. Coordinates the efforts of student reservationists and assists with revenue management strategy implementation for the $10 million/year Statler Hotel Rooms Department. Candidate must be flexible in scheduling and able to work weekends and holidays as business dictates. Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Accounting experience is helpful;
Superior communication and phone etiquette;
Pride in personal appearance and composure.
Warm and enthusiastic personality, outgoing in nature.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
