It's a very exciting time for our Laboratory Medicine department as Memorial Sloan Kettering is moving to a new state-of-the-art laboratory medicine facility on East 64th Street between First and Second Avenues. The Laboratory Medicine Department is seeking an experienced Supervisor, Specimen Logistics to perform and maintain proficiency in the technical and related work of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory.

Plan, organize and direct the day to day operations of the specimen processing sections of the Laboratory in order to optimize workflow, ensure quality service and meet the needs of clinicians and patients.
Oversee all processes related to specimens sent out to reference laboratories, ensuring that the results are available to clinicians and prepares/reconciles reference laboratory invoices for manager approval for payment.
Develop and write standard operating procedures, develop training exercises and maintain staff competence.
Monitor Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Safety and Inspection Control practices to assure compliance with internal and external regulations.
Bachelors' degree (Biology, Chemistry, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences).
Minimum 5 years' relevant experience (preferably including supervisory experience).
New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License; ASCP certification preferred.
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
