Provides computer and networking support to Student Affairs (SA) personnel. Provides user training and installation of hardware and software. Diagnoses and resolves user problems. Provides guidance to users regarding computer hardware, software, databases, networks and laboratories. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB DUTIES:
60% - Essential - TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING: Provides technology support for Student Affairs personnel, departments, and computer laboratories, including systems configuration, installation of hardware and software, and problem diagnosis and resolution according to established priority guidelines.
20% - Essential - TECHNICAL TRAINING: Assists in the on-going training of IT student workers regarding needed technical knowledge and implementation of technical skills. Provides assistance in training for departmental personnel in access of University and Internet IT resources. Other duties as assigned.
10% - Essential - HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE MANAGEMENT: Provides guidance to SA personnel by evaluating hardware and software needs. Documents information system requirements, plans and road-maps. Communicates technical information, metrics, and reports to both customer and other team members.
10% - Essential - COMPLIANCE: Assists Division's lead technical assistant in developing standards and policies and procedures. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. RESPONSIBILITIES:
