The Advanced General Dentistry Clinic at the University of Washington has an excellent opportunity for a Dental Assistant 2.
This position provides assistance to residents, faculty, affiliates and patients in our Advanced General Dentistry Clinic. The DA2 in this position is responsible for assisting our dental residents in routine chair-side duties and patient care. Other duties include obtaining and mixing dental materials, cleaning, preparing treatment areas and stocking clinics, orienting new staff and residents to clinic procedures and policies and following strict guidelines mandated by OSHA/WISHA and the UW regarding infection control protocols and guidelines.
Routine 4 handed dentistry with dental students.
Knowledge of dental materials and usage.
Cleaning and preparing treatment areas.
Inventory and stocking supplies.
Monitor school-owned instruments for breakage and wear; assess replacement needs.
Provide excellent customer service to our patients, residents, faculty and staff.
Perform routine chair-side duties and patient care.
Keep all areas clean, orderly, and neat.
Perform related dental assistant duties as required.
Completion of an accredited training program for dental assistants; AND current certification as a dental assistant (CDA) OR the ability to obtain same within six months; PLUS two years of experience as a dental assistant. One year of additional dental assistant experience may substitute for required education.
