This clinical pharmacist position focuses on the delivery of safe, high-quality, cost-effective medication therapy to the hematology/oncology patient populations with secondary support of surgical populations. The position provides direct patient care and pharmaceutical services to cancer patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The clinical pharmacist will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary patient care rounds, collaborate with providers and nursing staff, clinically review and assess chemotherapy treatment plans, verify medication orders for medical oncology and surgery patients, and dispense oncolytic medications. The position will have opportunities to work with the oncology team and oncology pharmacy clinical coordinator on patient and provider education, guideline/policy development, performance improvement projects, pharmacy resident precepting, and clinical practice enhancement. Inpatient areas of involvement include standalone hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplant units. Outpatient areas include the BIDMC Cancer Center in Boston, MA and the BIDMC Needham Cancer Center in Needham, MA.
BS of Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution. Must be eligible for licensure in the state of Massachusetts and fully licensed in Massachusetts prior to start date.
Preferred qualifications include completion of a PGY2 Oncology Residency or equivalent experience and/or Board Certification in Oncology.
