The Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Informatics in the School of Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a part time 80%FTE Curriculum Specialist.
This position will function as student advisor, recruiter, evaluator and curriculum support for the Clinical Informatics and Patient Centered Technologies (CIPCT) Masters of Science program at the UW School of Nursing. In addition, advise the Chair and Vice Chair on curricular matters and support, perform resource management, and provide liaison and leadership on clinical placements.
Advising/supporting CIPCT Students: Advise and assist students at each step of their program participation. Problem solve technology, logistical and administrative challenges. Plan their schedules. Coordinate clinical placements. Assist with financial aid. Establish support and communication channels. Promote retention.
Recruitment: Manage the nationwide CIPCT recruitment program, and represent the School. Develop recruitment materials and websites, travel to sites, conferences, organizations, make presentations, analyze and improve recruitment methods, follow-up recruitment efforts. Directly work with prospective students doing problem solving and advising. Work with outside agencies and partners.
Advising/Liaisoning/Resource mgt: Advise department leaders on curricular support and instructor support issues. Provide liaison in obtaining and supporting preceptors and clinical sites. Plan, manage and assess resources devoted to curricular programs. Ensure sustainability of existing and projected programs.
Providing Curriculum Support: Establish logistics, administrative and technology support for curricular programs. Establish student databases. Train or brief faculty on distance learning technology, procedures, administrative requirements, university policies, dealing with student needs. Provide ongoing operational support to both faculty and students.
Evaluation/Planning: Evaluate effectiveness of program components, such as delivery systems, sites, recruitment strategies, retention. Provide data for progress reports and make recommendations to director.

Bachelors degree, preferably in Education, Nursing, Counseling, Social Work, Business or related field.
2 years work experience in teaching, student advising, counseling, or directly working with students.
Experience working at an educational institution or organization with education in its mission.
Experience performing recruitment functions and designing, composing or creating recruitment materials.
Demonstrated verbal, written and electronic communication skills, to include experience doing public speaking.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
This position also requires occasional travel to training sites and out of state conferences, and the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
