This full time, exempt staff person supports the Director, Corporate Risk Management. Accordingly, the position has broad responsibilities including the maintenance of the Risk Management and Insurance databases, including OSHA 300 logs, assisting in the insurance renewal process and reconciliation of the premium invoices to proposals, and various financial analyses for projects including assisting with research for claim trends, benchmarking and acquisitions.
This position requires in-depth knowledge of Property, Casualty and Executive Risk insurance coverages in order to assist and provide service to all levels of the Company.
Risk Management Information System: Requires proficient use of Risk Management claim systems to access data and run various types of reports frequently and provide to internal and external contacts, including the Corporate Risk Management team, Legal, Corporate Finance, insurance brokers, outside consultants and insurers. Data is analyzed often to ensure its credibility and accuracy.
Claims Management: Work closely with the Corporate Risk Management team in monitoring Workers’ Compensation, Professional Liability, General Liability, Auto Liability and Physical Damage, Property Insurance, Crime and Employment Practices Liability claims. Also, assists with insured litigation updates from the carriers and quarterly reports.
Complete Projects assigned by the Director, Corporate Risk Management: Examples of new projects: research and analysis of risk identification including acquisitions; cost of risk analysis; download documents and data from data sites on acquisition transactions and assist in the preparation of databases and presentations. Other projects as assigned by the Director, Corporate Risk Management.
Risk Management Insurance Budget Allocation and Policy Audits: Assist the Corporate Risk Management team and outside broker with the calendar budget and allocation of expenses. Assist in insurer premium audits to reconcile projected payroll, revenues and vehicle counts.
Maintenance of all Insurance Policies and Related Records: Work with the team and insurance broker to ensure policies are correct and complete as bound. Work with the team and outside brokers to develop a historical Insurance Schedule each year as policies renew.
Obtain Exposure Information and Loss Experience for Insurance Renewals: Assist in obtaining actual and projected payroll by classification, by state and/or by country; revenues; number of vehicles; employee headcount; and property values and business interruption values, including acquired and sold properties, and loss reports to submit this information to insurance brokers and insurers.
Insurance Certificates Requests: Assist the team with Certificates of Insurance requests as needed. Work with the team and the insurance brokers to have Ventas Certificates of Insurance issued to lenders upon request, including annual renewals.
Monitor Corporate Insurance and Risk Management Payments: Assist the team in ensuring premium payments are paid timely to preclude the cancellation of insurance policies. Keep an up-to-date record of all invoice payments.
Automobile Identification Cards and Workers’ Compensation Posting Notices: Manage database of all owned and leased vehicles and coordinate with the outside broker that drivers receive automobile identification cards. Work with insurance broker and local human resources staff to ensure workers’ compensation posting notices are sent to and posted appropriately at the domestic company locations. Handles the annual Ohio Workers Compensation Training.
OSHA Reporting: Maintains the Company’s OSHA 300 logs, prepares, and distributes the annual OSHA reports to all Company and field offices to post February through April.
5+ years within a Corporate Risk Management department, risk consulting, or insurance company.
Analytical capabilities to analyze risk and statistical loss experience.
Having or working towards Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation ideal.
Experience with a Risk Management Information System (RMIS) is a plus.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Microsoft Explorer & Internet Search Software, i.e. Google.
