JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of Vice President of Instruction and Institutional Research, the coordinator of the Dual Enrollment Program, will carry out work aligned to Career and Technical Education (CTE) grants (SB1070 and AB86) while working closely with College academic and student affairs personnel, as well as local high schools in the service area, to provide comprehensive programing that affords high school students the opportunity to earn college credit and prepare for a career while still in high school.
The Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the dual enrollment program including: overseeing the college-wide dialogue on the enhancement, development and implementation of K-12 CTE academic partnerships and course offerings; liaising between the college and participating high schools, to help integrate CTE programs and individual classes while promoting student exposure to course offerings and career pathway programs; monitoring the qualifications of high school instructors to ensure they meet CA Community College Faculty minimum qualifications and coordinating the process of completing faculty evaluations; coordinating and ensuring MOU agreements are in place with each participating high school; creating and updating promotional materials for distribution to high schools, students, parents; and keeping the dual enrollment website up to date.
In addition to the Examples of Duties and Responsibilities listed below, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties for the specific grants:
Coordinate with high school and community college administration and faculty to implement work plan activities (i.e. - articulation agreements, dual enrollment procedures, etc.).
Provide assistance in the oversight of AB 86 grant work plan implementation.
Serve as Community College/Adult School/High School Liaison.
Provide coordination between instruction office and student services office with surrounding community colleges, High School and Community Organizations regarding articulation, dual enrollment, and matriculation practices.
Work with Student Services & Marketing to organize outreach events in community and on campus.
Assist with Orientation, Open House and Registration events
SB 1070 Grant: The overall aim of this grant project is to align regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming, policies and procedures. The alignment will increase student success in post-secondary education and training in careers of high need, high growth, or emerging regional sectors and be achieved by leveraging regional resources, leadership and investments.
AB 86 - Adult Ed: The Student Transition Consortium is partnership effort between Foothill-De Anza College District (FHDA), Palo Alto Unified School District-Adult School (PAUSD), Fremont Union High School District- Adult School (FUHSD) and The Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District-Adult School (MVLA) whose mission is to coordinate and integrate programs, create linkages, and develop regional plans to better serve the educational needs of adults in the region.
DEFINITION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, provide overall direction and guidance to the day-to-day operations, problem solving and decision making regarding an assigned program; implement program policies and guidelines; provide for program reporting and accountability; provide work direction and guidance to other program personnel; monitor program budgets.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Depending upon assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide overall direction and guidance to the day-to-day operations, problem solving and decision-making regarding an assigned program; implement program policies and directives according to District, federal or State guidelines.
Provide work direction and guidance to others assigned to the program; assign work to other classified personnel, students, volunteers and others; provide input to performance evaluations.
Develop, recommend and implement program plans and objectives; coordinate delivery of services to program participants; assure participation guidelines are followed.
Assure program expenditures are within allocated budgets; monitor budgets; propose budget changes and participate in project budget applications as necessary.
Establish appropriate linkages to special populations or community groups served; promote program through participation in advocacy groups, associations and other local, regional or national organizations.
Provide regular reports to management and federal/State agencies as requested; participate on program reviews; assure program compliance with federal or State program guidelines.
Serve as liaison between program personnel, participants, clients, administrators, faculty and students; provide information, program requirements and other pertinent information.
Develop, coordinate, promote and oversee a broad range of programs.
Develop workshop materials, promotional materials and other program documentation.
Operate a computer and other office equipment as assigned.
Design, develop and present workshops for students and with varied learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
Assist in curriculum planning and development; provide input to faculty and staff regarding program offerings.
Serve as program administrator in the absence of program supervisors.
