Salary Range: $22,654-$32,249 (prorated salary range for .75FTE/30 hours per week)
This position serves as a Research Assistant for a longitudinal large-scale quantitative research study, the Family Life Project (FLP), and an intervention study, Targeted Reading Intervention (TRI) under the direction of Dr. Lynne Vernon-Feagans as well as administrative support and data collection for the Early Learning Network (ELN) under the direction of Dr. Margaret Burchinal. The purpose of this position is to provide high-level support to the Principal Investigators, Project Directors, and other research staff of these projects. Duties will include: Organizing videos; data management; performing updates to family and school tracking systems; preparation and organization of materials for data collection; setting up training and meetings; assisting with maintenance of project SharePoint sites; performing HR duties, including affiliate status, recruitment, applicant review, and interviewing; collaboration with researchers and the FPG Data Management and Core to facilitate data collection and data accuracy; communication and coordination with collaborating sites; processing and reconciling payments and purchases in ConnectCarolina; general record keeping and organization; data collection in Spanish; and any other administrative and research-related work required to carry out the grant objectives. This position includes collecting data which will require fluency in Spanish and previous work in administering the following assessments: Preschool Language Scales (PLS-4 and PLS-5), English and Spanish editions Expressive One Word Picture Vocabulary Test (EOWPVT), English and bilingual editions Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT) MacArthur-Bates Communication Development Inventories (1-3), English and Spanish editions Oral and Written Language Scales (OWLS II) Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals (CELF), English and Spanish editions.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Fluent in Spanish
Experience working on projects involving diverse families and children, namely African-American families and Spanish-speaking families
Prior experience with data management and data quality control, including audio-visual recordings and biological specimens
Experience with processing and reconciling payments and purchases in ConnectCarolina
HR experience including preparation and review of documents for hiring, terminations, and personnel changes; creation of new positions; affiliate status; recruitment; applicant review; interviewing; and new hire orientation
Experience maintaining Access databases
Experience with UNC budgeting and ePars
Strong computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office (including Word, Access, Excel, and 365), Sharepoint, Google Calendar, and Google Drive
Human Subjects Protections training through CITI online course

Master's degree desirable
At least 2 years' experience teaching Spanish
