Job Summary The Manager of Database and Development Operations manages the growing gift stewardship needs of Project HOME. This Manager will support the VP of Development and Communications, the Director of Individual Giving and the Director of Institutional Giving to ensure that Project HOME meets its private revenue goals annually, which in FY16 amount to $7.2 million in operating funds and $4.5 million in capital funds. The primary responsibilities of the position are to develop, upgrade and oversee standards, procedures, and tools that enable and encourage best practices and consistency in budget forecasting, gift stewardship and moves management. The position manages the Development Associate of Gift Processing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the development department’s data systems, gift processing, acknowledgements, filing and budgeting systems.
Participate in goal-setting for the development department, and consistently monitor and report on staff portfolio performance.
Coordinate revenue budgeting with other institutional stakeholders and assist in the design of mid-year and end of year projections, as well as analysis of trends and presentation for fiscal year fundraising forecasting.
Manage expense budgeting for the development department, including developing and presenting an annual budget, and regularly monitoring and reporting on spending to budget.
Responsible for growing the development department’s capacity for prospect research, identification and moves management, including implementing a wide range of advancement policies and procedures.
Ensure the integrity of gift stewardship, including prospect data management, gift processing, pledge processing and tracking, and personalization of acknowledgements, reconciliation and reporting.
Enforce database standards, including database access, security and privacy, data entry, coding and data maintenance throughout the department.
Manage all list maintenance and development, including but not limited to, mailing lists, prospect lists, and email lists.
Coordinate the technical and procedural interfaces between development database and other data streams (other internal database sources, data from vendors).

5+ years of development experience in a non-profit environment, including direct management of staff, as well as project management and database management.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; capable of co-managing and mentoring a staff with a broad range of responsibilities.
Excellent analytical skills, and experience working with project budgets and financial reports.
Computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Raisers Edge.
Good writing and editing skills.
Ability to handle privileged information confidentially.
