Dominican University of California is seeking an individual for a Director of Financial Aid position. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, this individual will oversee departmental operations in Financial Aid, including federal and state aid program management, compliance with federal and state programs, and oversight of financial aid program budgets in excess of $40 million. The Director of Financial Aid will lead a team consisting of an Associate Director, a Financial Aid Operations Specialist, and two Financial Aid Advisors.
Provide project management and data reporting for Enrollment and Revenue Management System (ERMS) with vendor, or similar system. Keep Net Price Calculator updated annually.
Responsible for enrollment management financial aid analy
As directed by Vice President, disseminate information to senior management and to the campus community about progress, trends and result
Monitor and forecast financial aid (budget, discount rate, tracking of overall expenditures).
Provide proactive leadership to develop goals and objectives for financial aid and student employment that support both the short- and long-range planning of the university.
Work with auditors and external federal and state agencies for any audit and program reconciliation requirement
Prepare annual FISAP and other federal or state required report
Prepare and present financial aid program materials at campus and other recruiting or enrollment events on and off campus.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure ongoing coordination and continuity of processing and consistency for students and their families.
Monitor, maintain, and develop federal and state aid programs by disseminating regulatory updates, quality and compliance control, and oversight of reconciliation and audit processe
Maintain a comprehensive policies and procedures manual that ensures compliance with federal and state regulation
Manage the federal work study program including fiscal management, operational management, compliance, and reportin
Supervise the Office of Veterans Services and the Veterans that work in that office.
Work in Coordination with Business Services Office and the Office of the Registrar to Certify enrollment, tuition and fees in VA ONCE. Complete 28-1905 for Books and Materials for Vocational Rehab Reimbursement.
Work with the Office of Admissions to send communications to prospective students.
Manage the NCAA Division II Athletics as it pertains to Coaches Awards and disbursing aid.
Stay abreast of ongoing updates related to enrollment, retention and financial aid regulations, policies, and best practices.
Annually identify appropriate leadership development training, workshops, or seminars.
Maintain and obtain training on federal programs or services, annually or as needed due to changes in federal regulations (includes annual FSA Conference, and either NASFAA or CASFAA annual conference).
Determine attendance at PowerFAIDS Users Conference annually for ongoing software updates and best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required
Must be able to secure National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) access (for instance, valid social security number and free from default on delinquency on federal student loans)
Significant experience in financial aid including progressive responsibility and demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial aid programs
Knowledge of financial aid and enrollment trends, reporting, modeling, and best practices
Knowledge of federal financial aid regulations, student employment programs, needs analysis and packaging principles, and financial aid programs required
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
Demonstrated ability to manage people in a collaborative, positive environment
Demonstrated ability to lead diverse groups
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Understanding of Federal financial aid processing software (such as COD, EDE, PowerFAIDS)
Understanding of Student loan processing software (such as ELM, COD)
Understanding of Noel Levitz Enrollment Management Reporting System software
Understanding of Report writing software (such as SQL)
