Full Time; Career Starting Salary Range: $6,683.33-$9,196.11 monthly. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Genomics Institute seeks a technical project leader to join the highly collaborative Computational Genomics Platform (CGP) and work with a global team of genomics experts on open source solutions to improve the organization, computation, and accessibility of genomic data. The CGP uses big data and cloud technologies to facilitate genomic research for global health issues such as breast cancer, children's cancer, and work that facilitates other genetic research areas. The team is also extensively involved with The Human Cell Atlas project where we are working to build a catalog of all the types of cells in the human body and which genes are expressed in each. All the results will be open to public researchers and is expected to contribute to a major jump in human health. This position is involved in the development of server/OS/desktop/mobile applications and services including researching, designing, developing specifications for designing, writing, modifying, testing, debugging, troubleshooting and maintaining source code. It also has direct or related involvement in designing related databases, user interfaces, integration to other systems/applications, content or multimedia processes, and work includes analysis and design to post production processes, quality assurance, maintenance and documentation.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training with an emphasis in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, Bioinformatics, or in a related field.
Demonstrated ability to lead a technical staff of IT and/or scientific personnel, including projects performed by multiple developers.
Solid knowledge of bioinformatics methods, bioinformatics applications programming, web development, data security, operating systems, relational databases, and data structures in an open source environment.
Demonstrated critical thinking, persuasion/negotiation, conflict resolution, mentoring and staff development, supervision, problem solving, human resources policies and procedures relating to management responsibilities.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, quantitative and analytical abilities.
