Job Description: RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to work closely with J-PAL affiliated professors on study fielding and data analysis in support of a randomized evaluation of the Nurse Family Partnership program and other RCTs (randomized controlled trials). Duties include working with data sets using Stata, R, and Python; preparing and running code for data cleaning and linking; conducting data analysis; and preparing data for public access; contributing to literature reviews and analysis plans. Will also liaise with field staff, including possible travel to field sites; provide input on project reports for funders; prepare academic papers; assist with IRB (institutional review board) applications; communicate with research partners about data requests and analysis; and develop public research resources such as sample Stata code.
Job Requirements: REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, or a field of study related to humanities, arts, and sciences; significant training in economics; econometrics coursework; hands-on experience with Stata or similar statistical package; excellent oral and written communication skills; and proven ability to handle several different projects/tasks at one time, successfully complete assigned tasks, and meet deadlines.
