We are seeking a talented individual to join us as a Manager, Multispecialty Clinics, our wholly-owned parent company that links Mercyhealth together by offering a complete continuum of health care services to our membership, including seniors, individuals, and area employers and their employees.
We seek a visible nursing leader for this vital role at our Magnet-accredited facility. As Clinic Nursing Manager, you will plan, organize, and direct nursing practice for multiple areas of responsibility or nursing areas in accordance with the health system's mission, vision, values and philosophy. You may have a complex area of focus or be involved in clinical program development and operations.
Plan, organize, and direct nursing practice to ensure the total patient experience is exceptional both in the quality of care and in the patient perception of services as defined and measured by system dashboard goals.
Assume 24/7 accountability for your areas of responsibility.
Interview, select, oversee orientation, train, coach/mentor and evaluate the performance of partners, and provide corrective action as necessary.
Carry out the strategic vision for the departments under your purview, in alignment with the Mercyhealth and Department of Nursing mission and vision.
Foster familiarity with components of a Magnet environment and support all initiatives within the structure.
Serve as problem solver in complex situations.
Manage budgets and teams in realizing cost savings, expenditure controls, and efficiencies in health care operations as you work within budgets and productivity targets to meet organizational objectives.
Ensure there are organized plans in place for the selection, evaluation, orientation, continued education and development, competency evaluation, and appropriate scheduling of staff based on patient acuity.
Identify, recruit and retain strong clinicians.
Foster strong relationships with physicians.
Execute and direct patient satisfaction (PressGaney and CGCAHPS) action plans to achieve targets in your areas of responsibility.
Oversee process improvement in operations, quality, and organizational change.
Maintain strong knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards.
Communicate effectively and present persuasively to individuals and groups.
Participate in and lead hospital and department committees.
Lead by example by consistently demonstrating highly professional behavior and personal accountability, and hold others to the same.
Demonstrate decisiveness in gaining consensus where appropriate, and align diverse constituencies' needs and expectations to arrive at win-win solutions.
Serve as a role model and coach for Service Excellence Standards and service recovery.
At least of 2 to 4 years of progressively responsible clinic nursing leadership experience.
Licensed professional nurse in the state clinic is located.
Bachelor of Science in nursing.
Superior analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills-demonstrating genuine concern for people, listening carefully, exhibiting decisiveness and gaining consensus where appropriate in complex situations.
Passion for nursing, patient focus, and a collaborative, "can do" attitude in delivering the highest levels of quality, safety, and customer service.
Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets, cost savings, expenditure controls and efficiencies in health care operations.
Demonstrated proficiency in managing teams, developing and mentoring staff, colleagues and leaders.
Proven record of success in identifying, recruiting and retaining strong clinicians.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Excellent written/verbal and presentation skills—to communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals and groups through compassion, creativity, and consistent visibility.
Superior interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including strong physician-relationship skills.
Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards.
Experience with process improvement in operations, quality, and organizational change, including knowledge of continuous quality improvement management principles and practices.
Master's degree in a related field preferred.
Experience working in Magnet environment desirable.
Certification in specialty desirable.
