We are currently seeking an Instructional Designer who will be accountable for preparing Training Dealers for their careers as Canadian Tire Associate Dealers. The successful applicant will be accountable for designing and delivering impactful learning experiences that ensure trainees are set up to be successful Canadian Tire Associate Dealers who can run profitable stores.
Design, build, and/ or leverage existing content and materials to deliver end to end learning solutions to address performance gaps, strategic and development goals
Apply sound learning principles to all design to ensure the delivery of best-in–class training that develops Training Dealers who drive profitability, enhance the CTC brand and run operationally sound stores
Maximize the use of current learning methodology and technology to maximize the learning experience
Deliver on multiple curriculum builds simultaneously
Act as an ambassador for the Canadian Tire brand
Cultivate positive, collaborative working relationships at all levels
Deliver select training sessions and coach participants as required
Contribute to the effectiveness of the overall Dealer Development & Learning team
Proven experience in training and development with expertise in curriculum design and development, evaluation, reporting, coaching and mentoring
Post-secondary degree in Adult Education or Instructional Design, CTDP designation, or an equivalent combination of education and training experience
Five to ten years experience in a learning consultant or training role in a corporate/retail environment
Current knowledge of all aspects of instructional design, virtual, social and web based learning
Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills to confidently lead training sessions
Self-starter who works well with teams and independently
Strong customer focus with emphasis on building and sustaining relationships
Comfortable working with ambiguity, frequent changes and as part of a cross-functional team
Self-aware with strong interpersonal and communication skills
French and previous Canadian Tire or retail experience an asset
Proficient in Windows platforms and familiarity with eLearning development tools (Articulate, Captivate etc.)
Willingness to work flexible hours and periodic travel based on business need
