Full Time; Career Starting Salary Range: $64,000 - $79,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Typically found in large central departments serving multiple departments or units, this family involves providing day-to-day advanced consultation, training, instruction and troubleshooting/problem-solving to technical staff and end users for hardware, software, network and related computer systems, handheld and peripheral devices and ensures their operation for individuals and groups of computer users. Analyzes, recommends, installs, configures and evaluates systems and tools for internal and end user use. Develops and conducts tests of hardware and software and reports on configurations and behavior. Develops and provides technical documentation and training. Assesses needs and recommends hardware and software acquisitions and upgrades.
Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides direction to staff according to established policies and management guidance. Administers policies that directly affect subordinate staff. Recommends changes to department policies and practices. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Provide priority setting and work flow analysis.
The Support Center is a department within the Client Services and Security (CSS) unit of Information Technology Services (ITS). ITS is a process driven organization using IT Service Management framework based on ITIL. The Support Center is a single point of contact for client service and support requests for IT Services. The Support Center works collaboratively with service providers throughout ITS to provide quality support to faculty, staff, students and others at UC Santa Cruz.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or 4+ years equivalent experience/training.
Experience leading a customer-facing support organization in an IT organization and serving as an escalation point for more complex end-user IT technical support-related issues.
Demonstrated supervisory experience that includes managing and motivating staff in an environment with concurrent tasks, changing priorities, and resources, as well as utilizing work and project plans to meet deadlines.
Excellent customer-service skills.
Working knowledge of IT-related products and services. Recent technical expertise to help troubleshoot issues on Mac, Windows, and mobile OSes related to browser, interconnectivity, wired, wireless, email, calendar or other productivity services.
