Reporting to the Honors College Executive Director, the Communications Specialist is responsible for carrying forward the mission and effectively conveying the vision of the Honors College. This position will coordinate the College's social media activities, manage webpage content, oversee e-mail communications, update and maintain honors forms, and oversee communication with external partners. This position also supports the writing and distribution of marketing materials for various web and print publications.
- Communications experience in a professional or higher education setting - Strong computer skills such as word processing, desktop publishing, email, and social media - Experience with software such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook - Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills - Must have good quality control and proofreading skills and strong attention to detail - Ability to act as a liaison for the College, making decisions that both support the mission and inform the community - Ability to create an effective communication strategy with a varied user base (e.g. parents, prospective and current students, donors, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, or closely related business field or equivalent training and/or experience - Experience coordinating social media accounts - Marketing experience and knowledge of university branding and style compliance - Experience working with SharePoint - Experience with website updates and maintenance - Experience overseeing organization e-mail accounts
