The Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director to promote, manage, and execute partnerships with external stakeholders and partners, especially school divisions, in development of mutually beneficial professional development agreements, degree and non-degree program cohorts, and collaborative agreements.
-Design and manage professional development programs and coordinate course delivery. Facilitate design of professional development content in collaboration with partners. -Work with external stakeholders and collaborative partners' representatives to identify professional development needs. -Assist in the identification of low performing schools in need of external support. -Determine effectiveness of programs by developing data collection instruments, collecting and analyzing data, and reporting on the results. -Utilize evaluation results to guide future planning. -Develop and sustain collaborative partnerships with national and international external stakeholders and partners, especially school divisions that address identified needs and goals. -Work with external stakeholders and collaborative partners' representatives to identify professional development needs. -Liaise between school division representatives and VCU faculty to develop and execute educational programs that address identified needs. -Execute annual training calendar and coordinate insourcing or outsourcing of instructors. -Manage documents such as partnership agreements, manuals, training materials, needs assessments, course/PD listings, instructor lists, etc.
-Advanced degree in education or related field required -Minimum of 3 years of experience in building the knowledge, skills, and abilities of others -Knowledge and experience in meeting challenges and needs in urban and high needs schools -Direct experience working with underrepresented or underserved populations and meeting needs in high needs or urban schools -Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning. -Evidence of ability to work across organizations to meet mutually identified goals -Experience with online and traditional instructional design -Strong project development and management experience -Strong communication skills in working with a variety of audiences -Experience developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with educational institutions -Demonstrated experience working in fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
-Doctorate preferred -Preference will be given to those with professional experience working with urban populations -Special consideration given to individuals with demonstrated success in project management, business development, or related competencies -Proven success in identifying, design and development and implementation of strategic engagement activities
