This is a full-time, twelve month academic staff (limited) position in the Office of University Advancement. The Director of Alumni Relations is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage alumni in the life of UW River Falls. Serving as an ambassador, the Director is charged with enhancing a robust alumni relations program, creating and maintaining pathways for alumni engagement with the university, partnering with development colleagues to identify alumni donors, and manage all aspects of the Alumni Advisory Board. The position reports to the Assistant Chancellor of University Advancement and serves on the senior leadership team of the Office of University Advancement.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Serving as a liaison between of the Office of University Advancement and the college alumni groups.
Managing and coordinating all aspects of the Alumni Advisory Board including arranging meetings, staffing committees, and identifying new members.
Establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships between the University and its alumni.
Planning, implementing and promoting alumni programs that support the university’s strategic plan as well as the goals of the Office of University Advancement.
Directing, managing and evaluating regional and national alumni events
Overseeing the alumni relations website, electronic alumni communication and contributing to the publication of Falcon Features, the alumni magazine.
Directing and managing volunteer networks consisting of our alumni advisory board, alumni chapters, regional and national alumni event volunteers, constituent reunions, and athletic reunions.
Seeking to increase the engagement of alumni as measured through the alumni engagement model.
Attending and supporting college alumni related activities/events including regional and national travel.
Coordinating alumni travel programs.
Serving as co-advisor to the Chancellor’s Student Ambassadors.
Managing the alumni relations budget.
Evaluating and implementing programs to generate revenue for the UWRF Alumni Association.
Work nights and weekends as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Chancellor of University Advancement.
Three to five years of experience in alumni relations, development, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in managing people and budgets, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently without limited support.
UWRF alumnus or strong knowledge of the university.
Experience with comprehensive marketing and communications programs.
