Whittier College, Whittier, California is seeking qualified applicants for the graduate position of Equipment/Operations. Whittier is an NCAA Division III institution that is a conference member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and has an enrollment of 1650 students and sponsors a total of 22 varsity sports. This position will provide support for various areas of the athletic facilities; assist with day to day management of all equipment room locations. Assign and distribute varsity team equipment; resolve scheduling conflicts; open and close equipment room areas; ensure security of equipment, perform routine quality and safety standard exam of team equipment; oversee locker clearance and locker rental lottery; balance daily sales receipts; collect fees and transmit sales receipts and fees; launder clothing. Assemble equipment; perform routine maintenance and basic repair of equipment.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8-12 months of collegiate or professional equipment room experience. Knowledge of equipment room operations, NCAA rules and regulations and basic math spreadsheet creation is necessary along with excellent communication, problem-solving and demonstrated organizational skills.
The position is granted paid tuition and a stipend per month. A Bachelor’s degree, a 3.0 GPA, successful passing of the CBEST and one section of the CSET are required to be admissible to the graduate program if offered position.
