Reporting to the Senior Director, Application Enablement, the Technical Project Manager (Boston, MA) is responsible for all stages and types of IT initiatives from proposal and requirements definition to project planning and implementation. A major part of this position is to provide a proactive interface between the internal customers and the technical/programming staff to ensure effective definition and delivery of business applications.
In order to be successful in this role, you will possess strong business analysis, application design and project management skills. You will also be someone who is comfortable working with and across teams, communicating requirements, change and business needs.
The Technical Project Manager (Boston, MA) will also have the opportunity to interact with students as a mentor, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in building a positive educational environment.

Lead and participate in the design, development and delivery of effective business applications
Unravel, define and document complex business requirements and processes
Lead design sessions and review sessions with technical and business staffs, including all levels of management
Develop a detailed project plan, in alignment with the established project management methodology, to monitor and track progress
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Review and assess vendor proposals
Manage multiple, parallel projects using formal project planning techniques
Direct the activities of on-site and off-site consultants
Manage application design through the various lifecycle stages from business need through design and delivery
Establish and maintain customer relationships, interacting with them at the technical level, as required
Collaborate with developers, quality assurance, production support, and account teams to provide technical direction on systems analysis, design, development, testing and deployment
Ensure timely and effective delivery of the solution into production
Document technical requirements, develop and oversee project plans and implement change control procedures
Facilitate code reviews, software design sessions, and architectural reviews
Participate in technical advisory roles, as required
Ensure effective handoff to operations for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting
Leadership and Strategy
Manage a team of IT Business Analysts who provide project support.
Ensure all team members have clear goals and accountabilities, professional development opportunities and timely performance reviews
Serve as a member of the IT leadership, improving the way technology is delivered to the enterprise including, finding, implementing and documenting integrated solutions to computer problems
At least 3-5 years+ experience in the workforce
At least 3 years experience in Learning Management System project management
At least 3 years experience in xAPI/API integration development
5 years’ experience in business analysis or project management in a complex business and systems environment
A strong background driving features from start to finish - definition, scope/prioritization, creating functional specs, driving feature teams, incorporating feedback
Proven ability to work with individuals at all organization levels
Proven ability to drive large scale projects with high collaboration and thought leadership
Excellent decision making skills and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure
Excellent skills in presentation, communication and senior leadership engagements, including the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%
