This is a full-time position which requires flexibility to work in evenings as necessary and one weekend shift per month.
Expected Goals and Duties
Goal One: To ensure that all programs meet/exceed performance expectations related to efficiency, effectiveness, quality outcomes and high satisfaction among youth and families.
Oversees program operations and works with Program Coordinators to ensure effective management of day to day issues, successes and challenges that arise.
Provide clinical supervision to Program Coordinators to help them develop and grow as helping professionals in a performance based industry serving youth and families with complex needs.
Provide clinical consultation to direct service staff, case managers and subcontractors to improve clinical understanding, competency in service delivery and creative intervention strategies.
Directly observes, shadows and participates in program operations including evenings as necessary and one weekend shift per month.
Provide crisis assessment and intervention services as indicated.
Is on-call to Program Coordinators and on-call staff to provide clinical guidance and direction during behavioral health crises
Responsible for identifying program resources and developing terms of partnerships, linkages and sub-contracts as needed.
Responsible for monitoring external service subcontractors to ensure quality and appropriateness of behavioral health services, and to routinely monitor the progress of youth and families participating in services.
Implements, monitors and evaluates quality improvement initiatives for programs and outcomes for youth and families, including client satisfaction measures.
Goal 2: To ensure the on-going development and expertise of direct service staff, professional staff and interns.
Provide clinical supervision to Masters’ level staff to help meet their professional licensing requirements.
Manage intern program: Assess, screen, place strategically to enhance programs’ operations, provide supervision and evaluate performance. Acts as liaison to referring colleges and universities.
Assess staff training needs on an on-going basis. Shares in the provision of training for staff, or obtains needed training resources.
Goal 3: Communicate and work effectively with the Leadership Team and Administration.
Effectively collaborates with the VP of Strategy & Programs, Leadership Team and Administration and assists in representing La Casa Norte with funders, State agencies, regulatory authorities, elected officials, emergency personnel, legal service bureaus, community partners, etc.
Provide regular and timely updates to the VP of Strategy & Programs regarding major programmatic events as well as the progress, needs and overall status of programs.
Oversees implementation pertaining to the expansion of existing services.
Collaborates with the VP of Strategy and Programs regarding new program designs and implementation.
Consults with the Director of Operations pertaining to programs with direct service staff issues and facilities.
Other duties as assigned and/or as needed to ensure proper functioning of programs.
Qualifications: • Demonstrated desire and ability to work with homeless, at-risk and adjudicated populations, providing appropriate support, motivation and compassion in accordance with La Casa Norte’s mission and philosophy of service. • Knowledge regarding the social, economic, and cultural patterns of Latino and African American populations. • Willingness to work in a diverse environment in regards to race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation and gender. • MSW or MA Counseling or similar • At least 3-5 years post-graduate experience providing direct therapy to at-risk persons with a wide array of serious behavioral health disorders or trauma history. • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of principles and practices in the following methodologies: Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, Positive Youth Development and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. • At minimum of 2 years of Clinical Supervisory experience and program management experience. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and supportively with others. • Willingness to work flexible hours based on programs’ needs and have impeccable attendance. • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a car • Ability to pass a DCFS background check is required
