The Program Director core responsibilities are administration, teaching, scholarship, service, and professional activities. Detailed responsibilities include: Provide leadership, direction, and administration of all aspects of Project Management degree program activities in collaboration with the faculty and staff. Serve as the academic liaison to the Center for Workforce and Organizational Development to insure program aligned with industry best practices and relevant professional certifications and accreditations. Support the Jesuit ideals as presented in the Mission Statement of the University.
The successful candidate will have an earned Ph.D. degree (master's degree accepted). Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. PMP Certification is preferred. Candidates not possessing the PMP certification must meet the PMP experience requirements and must become certified within 1 year of start date. The position may be at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor, depending on candidate's education and experience. A Master's degree and extensive professional experience are required for Instructor positions. A Ph.D., completed by the starting date, in project management, operations management, or related field is required for Assistant Professor positions. We seek candidates who have an active program of teaching in project management and who demonstrate excellence in demonstrated capacity for program administration; ability to develop and promote academic programs; and experience coaching, mentoring, and/or supervising colleagues. Experience in online teaching is highly desirable. Applicants from both industry and higher education settings are invited to apply. The position is an annually-renewable nine-month appointment with a regular but flexible work schedule. A designated stipend is given to cover administrative duties over the summer months. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
