The Clinical Nurse III assumes responsibility and accountability for the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Clinical Nurse III consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizes his/her knowledge base and proficient skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others in the role of collegial consultant and resource person. Demonstrates motivation and creativity and serves as a catalyst for effective changes within the Nursing at the unit, service line, and institutional levels. Applies clinical knowledge regarding standard pattern of care to consolidate interventions for time and cost savings. Assumes responsibility for patient advocacy, patient rights and meeting customer's expectation. Specialty Specific responsibilities/competencies Acts as a resource to nursing staff for assistance in starting IVs; assistance in starting/restarting peripheral infusion; accessing portacath/passport; central line dressing change; epidural cath connection; assessment of infusion therapy; Verge audit of Curos; ultrasound guided peripheral infusion; etc.. Administer chemotherapy in areas where the staff are not chemo certified. Works closely with chemotherapy Committee in revising /updating the chemotherapy policy. IV certification of nursing staff (RNs); education; and participates in the use of skills lab. Contributes in the review of IV therapy policy & procedure. Qualification Requirements/Preferences: Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Qualification Requirements/Preferences License/Certification/Registration Requirements: A valid and current California Registered Nurse License, BSN preferred American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS Specialty certification required or must be willing to obtain within one year from date of hire Experience: A minimum of 3 years of Acute Care RN experience Telemetry experience preferred.
