Primary Purpose: Responsible for supporting all aspects of the Athletic department's media relations and communications efforts.
*Nine (9) month position with possible renewal based on identified funding.
Essential Functions: 1. Serves as the primary media contact for sports assigned by the Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications.
2. Assists in the management of the Departments social media outlets.
3. Assists with the maintenance of the Departments athletics website (www.pacifictigers.com).
4. Writes and disseminates press releases.
5. Working closely with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications, designs, edits, and produces publications.
6. Assists with the video production of home athletics events, as well as highlights and special features.
7. Provides audio commentary during broadcasts of athletics events, as necessary.
8. Assists with research and video presentations for the Athletics Hall of Fame and Stagg Awards.
9. Assists in the supervision of student staff.
10. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
At least one (1) year of experience in intercollegiate athletic media relations preferred; experience may have been during academic scholarship or internship.
Bachelors Degree preferably in journalism, public relations, or a related field.
Skills/Knowledge and Expertise:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of desktop publishing tools (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
Ability to utilize statistical software (StatCrew Basketball, Baseball/Softball, Volleyball, Soccer).
Basic knowledge of NCAA, Conference and University of the Pacific rules and regulations.
Familiarity with social media outlets.
Ability to work collaboratively in team environment.
Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work successfully with all levels of the organization and diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.

Hiring Range: Min $15.29 per hour to Mid $19.81 per hour, non-exempt
