Advertised Summary Job Description: The Assistant Director of Student Services is responsible for monitoring academic performance, to ensure that students are making adequate progress toward program completion; for working to stem attrition and increase retention; for enforcing all Student Services policies for the School, and is responsible for the development of recommendations and metrics to demonstrate student persistence and success.
The School serves 8,000 students enrolled in numerous programs ranging from Master's degrees to Postbaccalaureate Studies, summer high school students, to visiting undergrads, to visiting international English language students enrolled in the American Language Program, to professionals pursuing certificates or executive Master's degrees.
General Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required. - 3 years of related experience required.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work with multiple stakeholder groups, in a fast-paced collaborative environment. Ability to take initiative and manage a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously, with impeccable attention to detail. Effective writing, editing, proofreading and presentation skills; ability to write evidence-based correspondence and reports. Ability to manage budgets. Knowledge of advanced functions of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.) Occasional evening and weekend work required.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in higher education or related field strongly preferred. Administrative experience in client centered environments, along with some experience in the provision of student services and/or program administration strongly preferred. Experience working with international student populations. Experience working with Disability Services. Proven ability to plan and successfully execute events. Knowledge of SIS database management or similar mainframe relational database system strongly preferred.
