Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEManages student placement and registration for the practicum/community engagement component of the Bachelor of Science of Public Health program. Supports department community engagement efforts by serving as a liaison to the community. Coordinate community and public health-related project elements that support resource utilization, administrative reporting, training in new and existing procedure and problem resolution. This position supports the distinct needs of Bachelor of Science of Public Health program within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCoordinate, manage and track student field placements for applied, community-engaged learning. Represent programs to community agencies which provide supervised practicum and other service-learning activities. Assist in placing students in community agencies and applied learning settings. Coordinate preceptor and student activities, including the management of student files.Establish and manage evaluation of students' program placement, including surveys of both students and preceptors. Compile and provide data for use in required reporting, including budget information, accreditation reports and admission reports. Serve in a liaison capacity to internal and external stakeholders. Support annual meetings with internal advisory committees. Coordinate events and projects with collaborating agencies to exchange information and remain current with developments in field. Support activities led by the public health student organization. Participate in academic recruiting. Support the work of the Director of the Bachelors of Science in Public Health Program.Assist in coordinating the course schedule each semester. Enter courses into WISE scheduling system, monitor enrollment, help with planning of schedule as major grows.Serve in a liaison capacity to Human Resources. Assist in initiating and processing personnel contracts. Maintain PTF data and personnel records. Provide clerical support as needed, including answering telephone calls, responding to email inquiries, resolving student/faculty issues and completing necessary paperwork. Support program special projects. Maintain databases on majors, minors, and alumni.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in a managerial or health related field.EXPERIENCEMinimum 2 years of job-related experience. Experience using Microsoft Office suite of software (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access). Ability to communicate effectively with others and establish professional and confidential relationships. Previous experience in a community setting preferred. Some knowledge of data collection methods preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESCommunication: Excellent verbal and written skills.
