Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Associate Director for Teaching and Learning Analytics for The Center for Teaching Advancement and Assessment Research (CTARR). The associate director will make presentations and hold workshops for schools, departments and deans on the improvement of teaching and its evaluation using data from surveys, student learning outcomes and other learning analytics.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Design and develops qualitative methods of evaluation teaching and learning.
Works with schools, departments and faculty to develop meaningful quantitative and statistical analysis of data drawn from instruction, student feedback and student learning outcomes to improve the evaluation of teaching.
Offers workshops, make presentations, consult with and provide expertise directly to deans, departments and faculty.
Consults with schools and departments, offering quantitative expertise and analytic skill to help those units develop useful and worthwhile analyses of teaching and learning.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's degree in a quantitative field, such as statistics, applied mathematics, economics, etc.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong and effective speaking, writing and presentations skills are required.
Knowledge of MS Excel, web site development design, and at least one statistical package such as SPSS or SAS, etc.
Knowledge and skill in developing graphical displays of data for analysis, i.e., charting and graphing.
Knowledge and skill in web design and development.
Knowledge of and skill in using online teaching tools such as modern course managements systems, audio and video capture software, podcasting software, social media and networking.
Knowledge and skill in using MS Access or equivalent data bases and SQL queries.
MSOffice software, presentation software, statistical packages such as SPSS and SAS, MS Access and SQL.
