The University of Cincinnati-Clermont College conducting a search for a Visiting Instructor in the CSST Program beginning August 15, 2018.
UC Clermont College is an open admissions regional campus located thirty miles east of the main campus of the University of Cincinnati, in Batavia Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 3,500 students. The College offers a variety of certificates, transfer programs, two-year technical degrees, and a baccalaureate degree.
Teaching Responsibilities: Faculty responsibilities include teaching 12-credit hours per semester for two semesters; service to the department, college, university, and community; and willingness to participate in all departmental duties. Class schedule may include day and evening classes and laboratory sessions.
All candidates must demonstrate/provide evidence of effective teaching and professional development. All candidates must have appropriate degrees and/or certifications awarded by the time of appointment.
Position Description: Candidates will be expected to teach in the following areas to include PC operating systems, PC Hardware, Basic Network Techniques, PC systems, VMware courses, and Cisco CCNA and CCNP courses. Candidates will also be required to prepare labs for all courses taught, which may include formatting or ghosting workstations, as well as submitting work orders for malfunctioning equipment.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems Support, Computer Networking Systems, Electronics, or related field. Have Cisco CCNA and CCNP industry certifications; have strong knowledge of computer hardware, Computer software, and prior teaching experience with technology; possess strong classroom management skills in using and modeling technology in the classroom; proficient at facilitating students in using technology tools for their own learning projects; demonstrate strong communication skills; and be able to work collaboratively with other professionals and students.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree by August 27, 2018. College teaching experience at an open access/admissions institution, online course development and teaching experience, and VMware industry certifications. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of A+, PC Operating Systems, and computer hardware.
