The Stewardship Coordinator ensures donor communications and experiences that deepen donor engagement. Reporting to the Director, Accountability and Stewardship this position collaborates with members of the Major Gifts, Annual Giving and Communications teams to ensure the highest level of personal stewardship is given to all donors. In addition, this person will implement and oversee appropriate stewardship actions required for the level and type of gift received as well as the program for which the gift is intended. This position will help to foster and strengthen long term donor relationships.
Coordinate the creation and delivery of impact reports for purposes of stewardship
Implement a comprehensive annual plan for the stewardship of all Foundation donors
Develop a systematic organization of processes under the stewardship plan
Collaborate with colleagues across the Foundation to ensure that every donor experiences the tremendous gratitude the Foundation feels for every gift we receive
Assist the Major Gifts team with preparation of donor meeting materials and other documents as requested
Collaborate with members of the Communications team to enhance donor recognition and experience on the Foundation’s website, annual report and other printed materials
Understand the Foundation’s donor recognition and naming policies and ensure consistency and equitable standards for donor recognition
Maintain an inventory of the Foundation’s responsibilities for donor recognition in accordance with Gift Agreements and Terms of Reference
Ensure commitments to donors are fulfilled
Coordinate and crosscheck lists for stewardship correspondence to donors
Ensure appropriate recognition is installed on Foundation funded equipment and space
Record stewardship and recognition actions in Raiser’s Edge
Track the impact of stewardship engagement with donors
Support other accountability and stewardship work as required
Knowledge & Abilities
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of professionalism
Exceptional flexibility, proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Thrives in a fast paced environment: highly organized and able to prioritize
Must be able to work both independently with minimal supervision and as an integral part of a team
Ability to seek, recognize and meet individual needs
Ability to field stakeholders inquiries and implement actions to ensure requests are resolved and directed as appropriate
Must have high attention to detail, and precise accuracy
Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in representing the Foundation

Extraordinary commitment to maintain confidentiality and discretion
Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma
Three to five (3-5) years’ relevant work experience in a similar role or with a Not-for-Profit/Foundation/Charity
Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience
Experience with Raiser’s Edge database considered an asset
