The George Mason University, Facilities Department is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Records Specialist. The Records Specialist assists the Plans and Records Manager in the acquisition, description, preservation, digitization, access to and security of all construction related archival records for all construction projects undertaken by the University.
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, history, library science, or an equivalent level of training and experience;
Basic knowledge of records management and archival principles;
Ability to work both independently and collegially in a rapidly changing environment;
Excellent organizational, problem solving, computer, interpersonal and communication skills; and
Applicant must be able to safely and independently lift 30 pounds.
Substantial demonstrated experience in records management and/or archives; and
Experience with architectural/construction records and knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS preferred.
