Function:The Communications Manager reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the leadership team to create and execute strategic communications in support of the CAASE’s mission to end sexual assault and commercial sexual exploitation (prostitution and sex trafficking). The position has primary responsibility for the development, design, and management of communications that increase public and potential client awareness of and support for CAASE’s programs, products, and services.
Manage communications strategy for the organization, engaging staff and key stakeholders in reaching audiences including the public, donors, policy-makers and members of the media.
Develop, maintain, and enforce CAASE style and brand guidelines; train staff, board and volunteers on the proper use of CAASE style guide and CAASE social media guidelines and recommendations.
Work with CAASE staff to identify key opportunities to promote new and existing services and programs and to ensure the maintenance of CAASE brand guidelines and messaging.
Copywriting & Design
Serve as the primary copywriter for all external and internal communications of CAASE, including emails, monthly e-newsletter, press releases, media alerts, website information, reports, print collateral, and fundraising and presentation materials.
Manage the development and maintenance of logos, trademarks, and ensure brand consistency with design, functionality and messaging in all collateral, including print and digital media.
Manage the creation of marketing materials for fundraising campaigns including event flyers, web graphics, marketing toolkits, video promos, and signage.
Manage the production of CAASE educational materials including brochures, program highlights, infographics, and event flyers.
Write, design, and distribute e-newsletters on a monthly basis.
Work with event and fundraising team to develop a marketing strategy and create and disseminate promotional materials for fundraising activities, and assist with the design and development of agency descriptive materials and marketing collateral.
Manage public relations activities, including by developing and maintaining media contact lists, responding to media inquiries, and engaging in daily media monitoring.
Develop relationships with local and national media, serve as the primary media contact, pitch relevant stories.
Write and distribute press releases, letters to the editor, and opinion-editorial pieces as needed.
Develop talking points and strategic messaging for programs and complex issues, advise senior staff on public relations strategies.
Serve as primary liaison between staff and external organizations and media for interviews and speaker requests.
Website & Social Media
Manage and maintain online and social media presence( i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Flickr)
Keep online platforms, including CAASE’s Website, updated and relevant;
Monitor relevant local and national news, articles, and stories to share on social media and through mass email communications;
Assess and recommend enhancements and technical and design needs to CAASE's website.
Manage CAASE archives including photo library, media mentions, and published articles.
Keep abreast of staff community engagement and document activities to create meaningful content showing the impact of CAASE work via the website and social media.
Maintain a master calendar of all communication activities, owners, and contributors.
Status:Full Time. Exempt.
Reports to:Executive Director
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field;
5 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or website content management;
Excellent verbal, written, and editorial skills;
Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, to handle a variety of projects and assignments at once while maintaining attention to detail, and to engaging with difficult issues and sensitive private information with kindness, diplomacy, and discretion.
Knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Office applications.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Experience with online and social media communications and website content management;

Writing Sample Requirement: Candidates must write a press release introducing the work of one of CAASE's programs to media representatives. The release should highlight how this program relates to current event(s).

Additional Salary Information: Salary and Benefits: CAASE provides a competitive benefits package, including health and dental insurance and paid time off. Salary low fifties, negotiable depending on experience.
