ABOUT THE POSITION The University of San Diego seeks an innovative, dynamic, and student-focused career professional to serve as its Associate Director of the Career Development Center. Reporting the Center's Senior Director and a member of the Center's executive leadership team, the Associate Director plays a vital role in the University's emphasis on student success and authentic professional outcomes.
The Associate Director contributes in a highly engaged, integrated, and visible organization that has experienced exponential growth in recent years. With a total Center staff of 18, the Associate Director leads a team of nine central and school-specific practitioners dedicated to individual and group career engagement with students and alumni from the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering, School of Leadership and Education Sciences, the Joan Kroc School of Peace Studies. Artfully renovated facilities and a unique "hub and spokes" service delivery model ensure both broad and deep career impact throughout the USD community.
QUALIFICATIONS Applications from experienced, forward-thinking career leaders who successfully demonstrate the following attributes will be considered:
• Higher education experience, with a preferred emphasis on career services; • Proven leadership and management skills, particularly as they relate to advancing innovative practices, building strategic partnerships, and leveraging team capacity; • Success in integrating student career readiness across a student population; • Direct experience working successfully with diverse populations and a clear passion for social justice; • Superior emotional intelligence and proven experience developing optimal partnerships within creative and dynamic group settings.
