POSITIONSUMMARY: Performs duties necessary to plan and coordinate Continuing Education classes, programs and activities including strategic development, implementation, promotion and evaluation. Serves all campuses, satellite locations and area partners, including businesses, organization, school districts, community centers and churches.
Prepares comprehensive documentation for program approvals/ accreditations in nursing and allied health. Responsible for monitoring adherence to required elements of all program accreditations.
Coordinates the processes of course preparation (from development to implementation) and instructor preparation (from hiring to classroom) for healthcare occupation trainings and nursing and allied health professional development. Assesses course selection, coordination of facilities, organization, production and distribution of class schedules.
Responsible for reviewing and approving all student course pre-requisites prior to registration, monitoring the adherence to required elements of the training program approval, submitting certification documentation to the certifying agency, if required, and maintaining all program records when the College acts as the sponsoring education agency for long term care or Department of Mental Health facility based training.
Plans and coordinates open enrolment CPR and First Aid courses offered on campus and at the College education centers and community requests for CPR/First Aid training offered off-site. Provides support and quality control for the American Heart Association ECC instructors who are aligned with the Training Center to provide instruction within the community and/or workplace.
Cultivates relationships and serves as a liaison between the credit allied health programs, the District Nursing Program, community and Continuing Education to ensure clear communication and development of quality programming to meet the needs of the healthcare workforce.
Reviews all credentials, selects and hires instructional staff or the healthcare occupation trainings and nursing and allied health professional development courses.
Evaluates enrollment, completes cost analysis and makes recommendation regarding class status (continuation, cancellation and rescheduling).
Participates directly in marketing for courses offered, which includes active participation in marketing efforts with the goal of increasing program awareness, fiscal accountability and student enrollment.
Schedules and/or arranges appropriate facilities for courses, seminars, workshops and certification exams both on and off campus.
Reviews and approves al student course pre-requisites, clinical requirements and certification documentation for healthcare trainings and nursing and allied health professional development courses.
Master’s degree or equivalent. Registered Nurse with an unrestricted Missouri license and over three (3) years of relevant full-time experience.
Knowledge of the principles of adult higher education including administration and curriculum development.
Knowledge of the St. Louis market and competitors to identify needs and trends and changing technologies.
Knowledge of the College's software systems including Ellucian, Banner, MS Office, Hyperion, EMS and others as required.
Ability to promote, develop and implement non-traditional educational programs to meet the needs of our diverse community.
Ability to make effective oral and written presentations.
Ability to establish cooperative working relationships.
Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the trending St. Louis market, students' needs, assignments and organizational structure.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
